Bamboo Mural, Lah Koh, Salisbury

Bamboo, Lah Koh, Salisbury
Tools used; wall paint, permanent marker
This mural was done for a newly opening restaurant, Lah Koh. The space was had really tall walls which made it look bare and empty. They wanted something to fill the wall but did not have any specifics in terms of what they wanted. Their restaurant name, Lah Koh, comes from a type of bamboo so I wanted to incorporate that somehow. The owners of the restaurant are quite young and they wanted to draw a young crowd to the place. I sketched out this bamboo haired figure on paper as an example and they instantly liked it and trusted me to draw on their walls!
Size reference, ft. me
The wall before
I outlined the face and the first strands of bamboo hair but most of the bamboo was done freehand
This was my first ever lettering which didn’t go too bad either
